Preparation

1. Research Baby Poses

Look through baby photo inspiration online (Pinterest, Instagram, etc.) and save a few of your favorite poses or themes. Think about what you want: Are you looking for close-ups of your baby’s face, more candid moments, or stylized shots with props? Share your favourites with the photographer so they can plan accordingly.

2. Timing is Key

Make sure your baby is well-rested and fed before the shoot. A happy, calm baby will make a big difference in getting those perfect photos. Plan the photoshoot around your baby’s nap times, avoiding any time when they might be cranky or hungry.

3. Outfit Choice

Keep clothing simple and comfortable. Babies look best in soft, neutral colours or pastels, and solid primary colours often work well. Avoid intricate patterns or logos, as they can distract from the baby’s face.

4. Diaper Shots

Diaper shots (or bare skin) are a classic and timeless look, showing off those little chubby legs and cute rolls. Make sure the diaper is clean and fits well. You can also add simple accessories like a cute blanket or a soft knitted wrap for texture.

Whether in the comfort of your home or in a familiar outdoor setting like a park or the woods, lifestyle photoshoots capture beautiful, candid moments of your baby in a relaxed, natural environment.

We bring all the necessary professional equipment, including a full studio lighting kit, but often prefer to work with natural light to achieve a softer, more organic feel—supplemented with studio flash as needed to enhance the mood.
